Jim graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1987, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. After clerking with Judge David D. Dowd, Jr., United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, he began his professional career in 1989 as an associate at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Columbus, Ohio. Jim is a member of the Ohio bar and the Florida bar.
Jim has over thirty years of experience as a leader, including service as a United States Magistrate Judge from 1995 to 1999. After his service on the bench, Jim returned to Squire Sanders, now Squire Patton Boggs, where he became a partner and led the Global Litigation Group. In connection with that role, he moved to the firm’s Miami, FL office and was responsible for the group’s overall leadership, management and profitability. Jim retuned to Ohio in 2014 and was a partner at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP in Columbus, Ohio before setting out on his own.
Jim maintains a limited law practice to service select clients and to facilitate court appointments such as special master and receivership assignments. Jim is also available to serve as an arbitrator and mediator.

Chris is a 1993 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and a member of the Ohio bar.
